The Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance began in 1972 as a small gathering of wooden boat enthusiasts and has since grown into North America’s premier wooden boat show. Over nearly five decades and across four marinas, it has become a world-renowned event known for its exceptional boat exhibits and high judging standards. Now held at Obexer’s Boat Company—the birthplace of wooden boating on Lake Tahoe—the show remains dedicated to preserving boating tradition.
In 1994, the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation was established to support environmental and historical preservation in the Lake Tahoe Basin, with Concours as its flagship fundraiser. Thanks to the community’s support, the Foundation has awarded over $410,000 in grants. Through it all, Concours stays true to its roots: sharing the love of wooden boats with the world.
