Join Placer County for the next Discover and Discuss; an open-house style event where county staff and community partners talk with the public about impactful projects and programs in the region aimed at supporting a healthy and vibrant community.
Discover and Discuss is set up to encourage two-way dialogue:
• It’s relaxed and interactive – our project managers will listen to your valuable input, discuss feedback and dive into potential solutions
• It’s the perfect opportunity to ask questions – go beyond surface-level information and learn more about the region’s projects and programs
• You can also get involved – discover how you can help out or impact a project or program
This event will feature interactive stations where attendees can meet with program experts and provide feedback.
• Housing: Provide input on a potential NEW housing preference policy that looks to prioritize local workers and current residents for new affordable housing projects, learn about the Workforce Housing Preservation Program that supports homebuyer opportunities, and more.
• Public Works/Roads: Updates and information from the Department of Public Works on infrastructure projects, parking management and more.
• Short-Term Rental Advisory Group: Share feedback and learn about current efforts and recommendations
• North Tahoe Community Alliance: Sharing their recently approved strategic plan
• Kings Beach Center: Learn about the property’s history.
• Community Stewardship: Discussion around a potential single-use plastic water bottle ordinance, bike share initiatives, and other sustainability efforts.
• Mapping Exercise: Join Tahoe CEO and Community Development staff to explore the status of current projects in the planning stages and share your input on opportunities in your community like pedestrian improvements, water bottle refill locations, and others.
