Author Talk: Heather Hansman on Fierce Country

Join The Understory at the Tahoe Wine Collective for their first author talk with Heather Hansman, author of Powder Days, in conversation with local writer, Megan Michelson, about Heather’s latest book, Fierce Country: The Untold Story of Three Women Who Ignited America’s Love for the Wild. HEATHER HANSMAN is an award-winning freelance writer and the celebrated author of Powder Days: Ski Bums, Ski Towns and the Future of Chasing Snow and Downriver: Into the Future of Water in the West. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Outside, among others. She lives in Durango, Colorado, right by the river.

Megan Michelson is a freelance journalist based in Tahoe City who’s been covering skiing and the outdoors for nearly 20 years. A former editor at Outside Magazine and ESPN, she’s now a regular contributor to the New York Times, Mountain Gazette, Backcountry Magazine, and more.
