In this lecture\, Dr. Alan Jenn of UC Davis explores the rapid evolution of electric vehicle (EV) technologies and the policies\, infrastructure\, and market forces shaping their adoption. Drawing on cutting-edge research in energy systems modeling and real-world deployment data\, he examines the environmental benefits\, grid integration challenges\, charging equity considerations\, and lifecycle impacts of electrification. The talk will also address how vehicle electrification intersects with renewable energy expansion\, battery innovation\, and consumer behavior. Attendees will gain insight into the technological and policy pathways needed to accelerate a just and effective transition to low-carbon mobility. \nDr. Alan Jenn is an Associate Professor at the University of California\, Davis\, and a researcher with the Institute of Transportation Studies. SUMMARY:Community Clean Up Day
DESCRIPTION:North Lake Tahoe’s 31st Annual Clean Up Days will take place on Saturday\, June 6 AND Saturday\, September 26\, 9am-12pm\, RAIN OR SHINE in Kings Beach\, Tahoe Vista\, and  Carnelian Bay. Over 100 volunteers will take to the streets to pick up trash. Last year\, over 1\,500 pounds of trash was collected. \nRegistration will take place from 9am–12pm at Tahoe Backyard (8428 Trout Ave) in Kings Beach. Participants will be given bags and gloves\, and directed to clean up a particular area in Kings Beach. Once bags are full\, volunteers may leave them at any corner in Kings Beach\, and our truck crews will pick them up. No bags will be picked up after 1pm. \nVolunteers that want to clean up at Crystal Bay\, Tahoe Vista or Carnelian Bay can pick up their supplies at registration. Please tell the Kings Beach District representative where you plan on cleaning up!  Truck crews going to Crystal Bay\, Tahoe Vista\, or Carnelian Bay will only pick up bags along Hwy 28. If you have your own bags\, gloves\, or trash picker-uppers\, please feel free to bring them.  \nVolunteers are invited to the Community Clean Up Day After Party at Tahoe Backyard from 12–3 PM.
