A red-hot rockin’ blues band from the North Lake Tahoe and Reno area\, The Blues Monsters were voted the #1 blues band in North Lake Tahoe for 7 years running “Blues Access” a national publication reviewed their 2nd CD “Live Vibrations” and could it be said any better\, “this band has all the ingredients for a great show.” The Reno Gazette Journal stated “this CD should be used as a teaching tool for anyone who wanted to record a live CD.” Their first CD “Red Hot Hat” received substantial airplay on KTHX Reno as well as “Mick Martin’s Blues Party” the blues show broadcast on NPR radio in Sacramento and sold thousands of copies. \nIt’s amazing to find such a powerfully unique combination of R&B\, funk\, jazz\, and Chicago-style blues high in the mountains. Polished\, tight\, yet bursting at the seams\, their originals are fresh and new\, even though it’s still the blues. Their covers are framed in signature arrangements that demonstrated the depth of the band’s talent. \nWhether paying respects to the masters of traditional blues\, or rockin’ out other tunes\, The Blues Monsters get the whole house up and dancing. (no concert July 5). \nBlankets\, low-back chairs\, sunscreen\, a hat\, food\, drinks\, cash for food and drink\, and of course\, your dancing shoes! \nTHIS SUNDAY we welcome BOOT JUICE! \nBoot Juice is a six-piece high-energy rock ‘n’ roll / Americana act from Northern California\, notorious for their barn-burning live shows that get entire crowds on their feet dancing: a reputation earned from recent performances at legendary venues like The Fillmore and Dillon Amphitheater\, festival sets at Treefort\, High Sierra\, and Golden Road Gathering\, and packed club shows all across America during their many years on the road. \nThough they call the Sacramento\, California area home\, Boot Juice originated in 2017 deep in the mountains and rivers of Idaho and Northern California\, where husband-and-wife duo Connor Herdt (vocals / acoustic guitar) and Jessica Stoll (vocals\, mandolin) worked outdoor jobs like raft-guiding and ski patrol. Herdt’s close friend Evan Daly (vocals / electric guitar) would often come out to visit and the two would do what they’ve done since they were young kids: sit around and shred on guitar together for hours. Stoll\, who has done all of the band’s artwork (album covers\, merch designs\, tour / show posters – you name it) since the band’s early days\, joined the band as a vocalist and mandolin player\, balancing Herdt’s heartfelt crooning and Daly’s raspy\, rock ‘n’ roll bellows with her soulful\, resonant pipes. \nWhen they played music together\, it would often turn into an impromptu backwoods show for fellow river/recreational workers\, earning them their earliest diehard fans. This era also inspired their band name: Boot Juice is a nod to the whitewater kayaking tradition in which a kayaker who “swims” (flips their boat) has to drink a beer from their shoe\, thereby appeasing the river gods – and also turning their day around after enduring a dangerous situation. It’s also a way of saying\, “Put on your dancin’ shoes\, Boot Juice is coming to town.” \n

Possessing a signature tone\, the vehicle for his fluid\, buttery sound is a flat top acoustic guitar that he has personally sliced and diced into an electric flat top\, with a vintage style humbucker pickup. Inherently committed to an improvisational approach\, Lebo embodies the realm of melodic and soulful sounds. \nPerforming since his early teens in Saratoga\, CA\, Lebo’s path has been one of constant exploration\, both sonically and conceptually. While obtaining a degree in Ethnomusicology at The University of California\, Santa Barbara\, he co-founded ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra) with childhood friends Zach Gill and Steve Adams. The band was groomed in their early years by James Brown\, and have since recorded nine albums (the last 6 have been released on Jack Johnson’s record label\, Brushfire Records/Universal Republic). ALO tours the world\, playing prestigious amphitheaters and regularly headlining multi-night runs\, at venues such as San Francisco’s legendary Fillmore Auditorium.

The seven-piece ensemble\, comprised of Andrew Corradini on vocals and guitar\, Russell Long on vocals and guitar\, Ben Wagner on guitar and pedal steel\, Albert Margolis on keys\, Anson Ditt on bass\, Derek Eglit on drums\, and Max Vega on percussion\, quickly solidified their musical bond and began an adventure of sonic exploration. Andrew and Russell have been crafting songs together since 2012. Their musical synergy laid the foundation for The Great North Special\, which they envisioned as a platform to share their love for diverse genres\, from country-funk and soul-blues to psych-rock and jazz. Ben Wagner brings not only his lead guitar and pedal steel talents\, but also takes care of the band’s guitars at the renowned Guitar Shoppe in Laguna Beach. Albert Margolis’ keyboard skills have been honed through years of touring with Leo Nocintelli of The Meters. The rhythm section\, comprising of Derek Eglit\, Anson Ditt\, and Max Vega\, offers tight grooves and an infectious energy\, which is the driving force for the band’s dance party live shows. \n

This FREE 13-week concert series begins June 15 through September 7. \nBlankets\, low-back chairs\, sunscreen\, a hat\, food\, drinks\, cash for food and drink\, and of course\, your dancing shoes! \nTHIS SUNDAY we welcome JOY & MADNESS! \nAn eight piece soul and funk explosion out of Sacramento that could be described as Jamiroquai meets Fits and the Tantrums\, Joy & Madness has been rocking stages all over the West Coast since inception. Joy & Madness brings a modern classic pop sensibility to a new age of joyous funk and soul reaching audiences in a way that few live performers can. As true believers in music as a shared experience that can simultaneously allow escape and connection\, Joy and Madness brings a live performance which leaves everybody inspired\, sweaty\, and full of joy. \nJoy & Madness began with 5 core members who met in a previous Sacramento project with roots in funk and soul music. With the addition of three more members\, the band began experimenting with the beginnings of what would become the Joy & Madness sound; a raucous mix of raw stonesy energy\, pulsing groove\, and juicy horn lines coloring tightly crafted songs. Since then\, they’ve shared the stage with performers as prolific as Tower of Power\, Trombone Shorty\, and Collective Soul. Front man and vocalist Hans Eberbach brings so much freewheeling energy to the stage\, he has literally broken right through the floorboards. His raw\, open connection with the audience breaks down barriers and pulls everyone together into the excitement of the experience.

Based in northern California\, BCB includes Kyle Ledson\, Django Ruckrich\, Mei Lin Heirendt\, & Sam Jacobs. Though still in their youth\, they are no strangers to the music industry. All four musicians are seasoned performers\, multi-instrumentalists\, singers\, & songwriters and they have quickly established themselves as one of California’s most prominent up-and-coming string bands. As their notoriety bubble expands exponentially\, they are easily categorized as the new breed in the jamband scene. \nIn just a few short years\, Broken Compass Bluegrass has already found their way to the stage of many iconic music festivals including the High Sierra Music Festival\, Strawberry Music Festival\, Winter WonderGrass\, 4 Peaks & Bluegrass in La Roche\, France among many others.
