SUMMARY:The Great Ski Race
DESCRIPTION:A competitive – or just fun! – nordic cross country ski on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. \nThe Great Ski Race is the largest nordic ski party west of Kings Beach\, with 2 different course options skiing on the same day. The 26 kilometer (~16.2 miles) course begins at the Tahoe Cross Country Center in Tahoe City\, climbs out of the Tahoe Basin over Starratt Pass\, heading east on the 74 road (Fiberboard Fwy) past Soup Station 1 with free snacks and drinks and then on to 4 Corners\, where you turn down the 73 road back to Carnelian Bay and onto the Blue Trail at Tahoe Cross Country Center. The race course covers magnificent terrain and offers spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada. The elevation gain for the 26km course is 1\,636 feet. \nOrganized and run entirely by the Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue Team\, this is the exclusive fundraiser for this all volunteer organization. Your participation directly supports the search and rescue efforts that keep our backcountry safe. \n

Our annual Lodge Clean-Up & Trail Work Day has grown into more than just a single work day — they are feel-good gatherings where neighbors\, families\, and friends come together to give back\, connect\, and prepare our trails and lodge. Every trail work day will be different\, whether we are raking up pine needles and cones\, clearing fallen limbs\, moving rocks\, or simply identifying needs. \n\nSaturday\, October 18th\, 2025 (Lodge + Trail Work w/ BBQ)\n\nTrail stewardship isn’t just about loving the trails; it’s about staying connected to the land through regular walks\, identifying what needs attention\, and taking action to keep our trails safe and beautiful. Together\, we will head out to ensure the trails are in the best condition for everyone who hikes\, bikes\, runs\, walks\, or skis through them. \nWhether you’re looking to log community service hours\, build team spirit\, or simply want to enjoy a day of purposeful fun in the great outdoors\, this is your chance to be part of something meaningful. All ages and ability levels are welcome — just bring your work gloves\, sturdy shoes\, long pants\, long shirt\, and sun protection. If you are not properly dressed for trail work days\, you may be asked to leave and return once you are. SUMMARY:Great Gravel Ride - Lake Tahoe
DESCRIPTION:The 3rd Annual Great Gravel Ride – Lake Tahoe will start and finish at Tahoe Cross-Country Ski Area (Tahoe XC) in Tahoe City\, CA. Participants can choose a 15 mile (1 lap) or 30 mile (2 laps) course. Riders will see stunning views of Lake Tahoe and pedal rolling terrain throughout. This ride is sure to please your senses and challenge your legs and heart. The race will have 1 aid station on the course\, a fantastic after-party\, and a raffle with great prizes. While the ride is untimed\, if you use Strava\, we will have 3 Strava sections to test yourself: an Uphill\, a Downhill\, and a Rolling section. Your registration donation includes 10 raffle tickets (you can purchase more)\, great food from MogRog catering\, and refreshing beverages at the end. All proceeds benefit our Tahoe Cross-Country Ski Education Association’s Youth Programs.
