Hear, meet and exchange ideas with well-known poets and writers from across the country at the University of Nevada, Reno Lake Tahoe’s Writers in the Woods literary reading and workshop series.

Gayle Brandeis is the author of the memoir The Art of Misdiagnosis and the poetry collections Many Restless Concerns, and The Selfless Bliss of the Body.

Her other books include Drawing Breath, and Fruitflesh and the novels The Book of Dead Birds, Self Storage, Delta Girls, and My Life with the Lincolns.

Her work has appeared in numerous publications and has received honors including the Bellwether Prize for Fiction of Social Engagement and a Barbara Mandigo Kelly Peace Poetry Award. She has taught at universities, libraries, and conferences across the country, served as the Inlandia Literary Laureate, and is a founding member of the Women Creating Peace Collective.

She is currently visiting faculty for the Low-Residency MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Nevada, Reno.
