Discover the remarkable winter sports history of the Sierra Nevada and the legacy of the 1960 Winter Olympics. Opened in Fall 2023, the interim SNOW Sports Museum features captivating exhibits celebrating local pioneers, Olympic champions, and the evolution of skiing in the Tahoe region.
Featured Exhibits:
- Local Ski Pioneers: Stories and photos from the 1700s–1930s, including Snowshoe Thompson and longboard ski racing.
- Winter Olympics 1960: Rare artifacts and memorabilia curated by Stan and Maryann Batiste and David Antonucci.
- Local Ski Clubs & Champions: Profiles of Olympians like Daron Rahlves, Julia Mancuso, and Travis Ganong.
